Poughkeepsie, NY – It’s been a wild couple months of home ownership.

After months of painting and replacing doorknobs, I’ve finally had time to clean up our back yard which is a mess of weeds, concrete, bricks and one sad looking hot tub.

The dumpster

The dumpster arrived nice and early at 7:30 a.m. and I started hauling junk out by 10. My friend Dane and his girlfriend were stopping over later that day to help me and Felice out. Moving the pieces of concrete was going very well,until my finger got caught between an upward moving concrete slab and the very stationary dumpster.

I ran inside. My finger really hurt. I put pressure on it and it didn’t seem to be broken but jeez, did it swell up. I called the eastcoastpaperboy and his lady–who is in medical school. She suggested lots of ice (and no lancing).
